Heart Necklace & Earring Set

Heart Necklace & Earring Set
Can you believe I made this pretty heart necklace and earring set from a thrift store shirt!
This transformation was surprisingly easy to do!

Heart Necklace & Earring Set

Do you like shopping at thrift stores?  I know it's not for everyone, but I really enjoy it!  I don't usually buy anything, but I love looking around and finding odd and unusual things.  I really like thinking about how I can use items in different ways and during a recent shopping trip, I found this pretty shirt.  It was way too small and much too shear for me to wear, but I loved the beading on it.

I especially liked these hearts.
I bought the shirt just for the beads and I decided to make some jewelry.

The earrings were easy.
I just used some jump rings to connect the hearts to some earring wires.

Next I made the necklace.  I cut different lengths of chain. . . .

. . . and attached more hearts to the chains with jump rings.

Then I attached the lengths of chain to a hoop and slid the hoop onto a necklace.

Heart Necklace DIY

I thought about adding some beads to fancy things up a little,
but I like them just like this.

Are you a thrift store shopper?  What's the best thing you ever bought?

And . . .

. . . here's another easy jewelry tutorial!
