We spend a lot of time in our cars, don't we?  Sometimes its seems like our cars are almost like a second home!  And just like our homes, they can get cluttered with stuff.

I don't have little kids anymore, but when I did, I was constantly finding junk and trash in every conceivable space of the car:  in the door cubbies, in the seat pockets, under the seats, and of course on the floor.  I really dislike having a dirty cluttered car, so of course all this trash made me a little crazy!  These days, my car doesn't get nearly as dirty, but I still sometimes have receipts, wrappers, and other pieces of trash in the seat and door pockets.

This is an easy way to keep your car clean and clutter free and OMG, I sure wish I had done this years ago! This is seriously one of those "why didn't I think of that" ideas!  It's as easy as getting a plastic container with a lid to use as a trash can in the car.  Now I don't have little pieces of trash all over the place and instead of cleaning out the whole car every few weeks, I just have to occasionally empty out the trash can!  (If I still had kids, I'd have them take turns emptying out the trash can!)

As a nice bonus, I love that the container is grey and goes with the interior of my car!

  2. Great post! Stopping by from Wonderful Wednesday. I have often thought about doing something similar, as right now my kids seem to be under the impression that our van is one big trash can!

  4. What a great idea! I need to get a container and do that. With 7 kids in the van, a little bit of trash can add up quickly! Now if I could only contain all the "treasures" they leave in there that I can't throw away...

  5. Great post! This is something we have to continually work on. It is a matter of us exiting the car with anything that doesn't belong there, and grabbing our trash, Come join my linky in the morning at 9 am mst. Would love to have you!

  9. Great idea! Keeping the car clean is always a challenge. Now to find a life-hack for all the crumbs that end up all over the car seat/carpet! :)

    1. LOL! I agree! Maybe they need to start making cars with built in vacuum cleaners! That would be a nice feature!
