Have you ever found a picture in a magazine that you liked so much you wanted to frame it?  That doesn't happen to me very often either.  But I saw this sweet little picture which reminded me of the houses and buildings I'd seen during my trip to Europe and decided to frame it.  There was a stand of free magazines at the gate while I was waiting for my Brussels Airlines flight back to the states.  This is one of the ones I picked up.

One of the things I'll always remember about Brussels and Amsterdam is the tall, narrow apartments like this one in the picture.

I found an inexpensive frame (only $5 with a sale and a coupon!) and it was the perfect size for my picture.  All I had to do was to trim a quarter inch from the top, bottom, and one side of the page.  Then I slapped it in the frame and called it done!

I didn't buy any souvenirs while I was in Europe.  I traveled light and didn't have a lot of extra room in my suitcase.  I'm considering this my souvenir and I love it!

  1. Great idea, If you love it it doesn't matter where it came from! I have framed especially lovely birthday cards in the past (not ones that say happy birthday on them obviously but they ones with beautiful art work)
