Birthday Candy Bouquet

Birthday Candy Bouquet

What do you get for someone who has everything?  How about a candy bouquet!  My friend had a birthday recently and I made her this cute candy bouquet.  I combined ideas from this pin and this pin.  Both are pinned on my food gifts board, but I usually pin gift ideas to a secret board.   Did you know Pinterest has secret boards?  If you pin something to a secret board, no one can see it but you.  It's great for keeping all your gift ideas and other things you want to keep a secret.

This candy bouquet is so easy to make!  You just need a few inexpensive materials and you can put it together in about 30 minutes.

Materials:
a flower pot
a foam sphere
a bag of suckers (I used dum-dums)
glue gun
ribbon

Directions
1.  Cut the foam sphere in half and place it in the pot.  My foam was just a little too big to fit inside the pot so I glued it to the rim.

2.  Poke the stems of the suckers into the the foam.  I started at the very top and worked my way around and down.  Try not to reposition the suckers while you're working.  If you take the suckers out and put them back in again, they won't stay in the foam securely.

3.  Embellish with some ribbon and a bow.  I just stuck the bow on with a glue gun.  I printed the little "49 sucks" sign, cut it out, taped it to a wooden skewer, and poked it in the top of the bouquet.  Done!

In 30 minutes you can make a really cute and unique present for less than $5.00.  Not bad!  I hope my friend doesn't mind me mentioning her age, but I can tell you that she really liked the candy bouquet!

  11. Hi! Found this on The Project Stash Link Up Party. Very cute! I did something similar for my daughter's 1st birthday party with a candy land theme. I had a tall clear vase from the dollar store that I filled with those red and white mint hard candies, then put the Styrofoam ball on top and starting poking away with dum dum's. Mine was kind of big though so I think I used at least 150 dum dum's. I still have it. Haven't had the heart to take it apart because it looks so cute. I like your smaller version though, which is also cheaper since it's less dum dum's :) Thought I was already following you, but guess not because I just gave you a FB "like" and am also following via Pinterest.

  16. This is a truly inspired project! I am going to make one to take to the Assisted Living Center I volunteer at for the group birthday party in September. Think I'll make a minature one with 25 or so dumdums for each participant with a tag that has their actual age on it as a gag. I, sure the gang will love it.
